What could be better than creating two unique, creative events for two very deserving groups? Scout Local had the honor to work again with one of our loyal Meeting and Incentive Companies to produce simultaneous events at The Omni Hotel Atlanta at CNN Center and did not disappoint. The end client, a well-known pharmaceutical group, was simultaneously hosting their oncology and neurology divisions along with effected patients in both the North and South Towers of the hotel.

For neurology Scout Local created a fun and interactive world for children with epilepsy and their parents. To prepare, we educated ourselves on childhood epilepsy and encountered challenges around their sensitivity to sound and light while working to create a playful carnival land for these sweet kids. Taking advantage of the vast 12-story atrium in the Omni was a must to transform the space into a larger-than-life carnival wonderland. We sourced a 25 foot slide in carnival colors as the focal. Towering above guests and delighting the thrill seekers, the giant slide along with a working lighted carousel where a cupcake walk was centered made this event interactive and endlessly playful.

Step right up! The Ring Master was a stilt walker who interacted with guests and was, of course, always ready for photo ops. Red and white stripped tenting carried the theme and functionally helping guests identify the food and bars within the large event space. Silk drape created a dazzling entryway and identified additional interactive entertainment: balloons, prizes and caricatures galore. One of the highlighted games was trying to beat Dr. Funnybones’ high score on the Wack-a-Mole. Seeing all the children running around with smiles stretching ear to ear, (the dessert buffet certainly helped) made the hearts of the pharma professionals glow with joy.

Over in the North Tower, the planner tasked Scout Local in creating a more sleek and sophisticated look for an adult crowd. The client wanted a, good-times vibe to bring energy to the oncology attendees. Immediately Scout Local knew that a local, upbeat DJ would be key. Pairing energetic music with ambient pink and blue lighting and white leather furniture created an ideal environment for encouraging conversation and networking. What made this event extra special for Scout Local was the many volunteers who broke a world record as recognized by The Guinness Book by stuffing care bags for oncology patients.

Scout Local’s passion for creating events sets us apart; but when we are able to bring joy and hope to those struggling with medical afflictions, we are beyond grateful.
